Ginkgo is leading the corridor plan for an approximate 25 mile section of IL Route 53, better known as Historic Route 66, stretching from Joliet to Braidwood. The plan is being led by Will County and a Steering Committee comprised of representatives from five municipalities along the corridor: Joliet, Elwood, Manhattan, Wilmington and Braidwood.  With monthly Steering Committee meetings, two large stakeholders forums and smaller working meetings, the effort has focused on identifying the assets and opportunities in the corridor,  understanding transportation issues, and emphasizing the need for a cohesive identity. Initial ideas have gained strong support from local stakeholders and community leaders. The plan is anticipated to be completed by Fall, 2013.
