The Village of Manhattan has the potential to grow to a 70 square mile municipality with over 40,000 residents by the year 2030. In this Comprehensive Planning effort, GINKGO and the community were able to produce a visionary document that is more than an update to an outdated plan. With high quality graphics and user friendly text, this slim colorful book has been adopted by the community and the developers with overwhelming support. The Plan preserves the unique assets of the Village, builds on the roadway framework plan by Robinson Engineers, establishes a regional trail system, and reserves land for job producing uses. A critical component of the plan was the master plan and codes for the Downtown District and a new transit oriented neighborhood around the Metra Station.
